Guttercrest Ltd.

One Oswestry-based company recently assisted by the Advanced Engineering Cluster is Guttercrest Ltd. Originally engaged in the installation of rainwater disposal systems, the company started to manufacture its own products in 1988 and is now a specialist manufacturer of a range of standard and bespoke rainwater systems, copings, fascias and soffitts.

Recognising the need to move into new markets, the company identified the requirement to upgrade its design and drawing capabilities and invested in new machinery and a 3D computer aided design (CAD) package. The Advanced Engineering Cluster was delighted to provide training for Guttercrest’s designer in the relevant CAD software.

“Adopting new technology has certainly made a difference for us”, says Mansel Bevan, Guttercrest’s Sales Manager. We are now able to produce conceptual drawings that show how our new products will look to architects and specifiers. There is no doubt that our newly-acquired expertise has enabled us to win some major new contracts - a fitting tribute to the assistance we’ve received from the Advanced Engineering Cluster. We have now been able to increase our design staff and the Cluster team will be providing on-going support in CAD training.”
