Employability and Placements

The School of Technology prides itself on understanding the importance of employability skills, therefore the Business Engagement and Placements Unit provides support to increase professionalism by organising workshops to improve CV writing, interviewing techniques and aptitude testing.

The Unit organises careers fairs and company talks where students can speak to managers and personnel officers about their career aspirations.

PeopleIt operates a drop-in policy provided by a friendly and dedicated team with many years of expertise in careers advice.

Higher education institutions are under increasing pressure to ensure that graduates have relevant employability skills.

The School therefore offers a range of courses to prepare graduates for different roles in industry.

All of our students have the opportunity to take a one year placement in industry as part of their course.

Students on a placement provide a useful workforce in any organisation.

When a department needs continuing support from keen and skilled employees, undergraduate students can meet their requirements. The placement allows students to gain experience in a real business environment.
